Dr Shailja Vaidya Gupta has worked in prestigious positions in the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and in the Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India as Senior Adviser/Scientist H.
Her major contributions in the Department of Biotechnology helped establishing Indo-international collaborations in the key areas of Health, Agriculture and Environment sciences. She supported successful R&D partnerships with many countries including Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, USA, UK and the SAARC countries. Also she established partnerships with international non-governmental organizations like Wellcome Trust, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Nobel Media, Prakash Lab, Stanford university, European Molecular Biology Organization and Cancer Research. She conceptualized and established successful human resource development programmes and science outreach programmes in DBT.
As a senior adviser/Scientist H in the Office of PSA to the Government of India she contributed in the prestigious Prime Minister's Science, Technology and Innovation Council (PM-STIAC) missions such as Waste to Wealth Mission, Deep Ocean Mission, National Research Foundation which is part of NEP2022, COVID-19 Response and Science Outreach.
